Lhasa Apso
The Lhasa Apso originated from Tibet dated back hundreds of years ago. This breed, also know as the "Bark Lion Sentinel Dog”, was primarily a guard dog in Tibetan monasteries and palaces. It would bark aggressively at unfamiliar sounds or sights. The Lhasa Apso is a very alert and a lively breed. Independent, strong-willed and assertive, with a gay forceful personality, the Lhasa is a real little character. He constantly gives the impression that inside his small frame is a big dog trying to get out. The Lhasa Apso is about 10 or 11 inches at the shoulder and around 12 to 18 pounds. This breed requires a lot of exercise. The dense coat of the Lhasa Apso requires regular brushing and bathing to prevent tangles and matting. On average, a bath every 7 to 14 days with several brushings in-between is enough to maintain either a full length or clipped coat. If you are looking for a dog suited for city/apartments and a great companion then you should consider getting the Lhasa Apso puppy! Lhasa Apso Pictures
